Today's theme at Pattie's Creations Challenge #38 is Vintage. This image is titled 'Crystal Chandelier'. My base is Kraft paper, followed by digitally created by me, designer paper with added sentiment. Next I placed a shimmery Ivory cardstock that was diecut with a scalloped circle, and embossed with a brocade design. Finally, I used a smaller scalloped circle on the image, and inked the edges for effect.
On the inside, to complete the sentiment 'Something Old...' I typed '...never goes out of style! Happy Birthday to the classiest older person I know!' and used a toned down digital background to match the front of the card. I placed light pink and green pearls at opposite corners.
I'm saving this for a friend who has a birthday in May.

CDAC Digital Drawing Challenge

I decided to give it a try with drawing an image for the challenge at CDAC. I used Word and Corel to come up with this image. It wasn't what I had in mind, so I totally scrapped my original idea. I call this one 'Cat Dreaming', that was easy!

Cute Butt!

A friend of ours is having knee replacement surgery this Friday. I made this card for Tony, and we know he'll get a kick out of it. The image is from Stef H of Glitterbabe's Digis, but alas she has closed her store. This image is titled 'ICU Man' and there is a female version of this one too!
I created my own sentiment design paper with sentences that might be what someone says when they are in the hospital. I kept it clean!
I digitally colored the image, diecut with a scalloped oval, and inked the edges with 'Lettuce' Color Box inkpad. That funny looking doctor is a feature in my Corel program called Picture Tubes. Here's a closeup view of the image colored.

This is my third entry in CDAC's Progressive 12 challenge. The Margarita image is from Shelly's Images. The designer paper I created has another image from Shelly that's titled 'Pamper Yourself'. I added the word Relax to the tub before making it into designer paper. I used a lime green CS for the scalloped circle and embossed with a folder design. The Margarita image was digitally colored, and I added a background called 'Citrus Peel' to help make the image pop! I was aiming to give that look on the straw of being in the drink. On the rim of the glass to simulate salt, I added some glue and sprinkled with 'Twinklets Diamond Dust', which I think is a finely ground glass.

Pretty Ballerinas

This is another entry in CDAC's Progressive 12 challenge. It's from the artist A Day for Daisies. White heavyweight CS is my base. Next is digitally created designer paper from me. I used a gradated tone, then added wording, instead of placing a sentiment. I diecut a scalloped circle and embossed it with a dotted swiss folder. The image was diecut with a circle, and then the edges were inked with a 'Lettuce' shade. I added a small shimmery sheer bow to the image to complete the card.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

I'll be sending this to our nephew, Jeff, for St. Patrick's Day! CDAC has it's Progressive 12 challenge in progress and this was one of the images from the many artists. I took the image and digitally colored it, then I created designer paper instead of using a single image. The sentiment is on a green circle that was edged with white ink. I then cut a gold foil doily and used only the center part to go behind the sentiment. I figured gold would work, since there's that pot 'o gold at the end of the rainbow. The Shamrock image is from Crafting with Jack.

Easter for Cassidy

I am so happy with how this card for Cassidy came out. Cassidy will be 6 in April, and she is our great-niece. In my post below is a card for her brother, Gavin.
Details for this card:
Base is a white heavyweight CS. Next, I digitally created a DP using different words and type fonts with coordinating colors. I diecut a hot pink and a white CS with a scalloped circle. Then on the pink one I embossed it with a 'Dotted Swiss' folder. The white circle was embossed with a 'Forest Branches' folder. I used 3D foam dots to raise the circles, then placed a 3D stickie Easter Basket and Bow. I finished the card with a pretty strip of elastisized trim that I received in a Swap. No images were used in this creation, except for the text image I created.

Easter for Gavin

I got a jump on Easter cards, and this one is for our great-nephew Gavin. He's almost 1 and 1/2 years old.
Details for my card:
Base is an Ivory heavyweight CS. My next layer is background paper from Bearly Mine Designs in a collection called 'Spring Mix'. I combined both sentiments digitally onto the background. The image is a Pre-colored cutie from Vickie of Nana Vic's, and it is a Freebie in Vickie's Quickies Challenge over at CDAC. I finished with some 3D stickies in the bottom corners.
I decided on using the Pre-colored image from Vickie because it's perfectly colored!

For My Husband

Today's card is my DT creation for Pattie's Creations Challenge #37 with a theme of Valentine's and Love!
I digitally colored the image, 'Heart Candy Box' from Pattie's store. My base is a heavy white CS. Next layer is a red DP with glitter flecks in it. I diecut cardstock, embossed with a dotted Swiss folder, then inked with Perfect Pearls Medium and PP Gold metallic powder. I placed a strip of pearls at opposite corners, placed my top sentiment on a gold shimmer paper and distressed the edges a bit. The sentiment on the bottom was left as is. The image was handcut and placed on the scalloped cardstock.

Jonathan's Birthday

Our great-nephew's birthday is coming up in a week. My husband doesn't like seeing cupcakes or cutesy things on boys cards, so he said find something to do with baseball. I searched my image files and couldn't find any baseball stuff. So, I found this baseball silhouette image on the Internet. I created my own DP from the image too. I added a frame from my photo program and added the sentiment to finish the image. I used an embossing folder called 'Clockworks' on Kraft paper, put some hotfix metal, and baseball embellies to finish the card.

Love Shack

Don't you just love that 'Love Shack' song from the B-52's! You can't help but get up off your butt and dance. It's what I thought of when I saw this little image of a house with a heart on it. It should be called Love Shack. The filename for the image is 'mro-digi-home' from Whimsy And Stars. The card is for the CDAC Progressive challenge 11. I found the sheet music on the Internet, and realized that says it all!
